Calling all creators in Unity! Create, mod and submit your Karting Microgame to our “Need 4 Kart I Challenge” to show your fellow creators your creativity in Unity.
With the release of the new-and-improved Karting Microgame and Mods, we’re giving you two ways to unleash your creativity and have some fun with (or against) fellow creators. The first is with this challenge, where you can unleash your creativity with the new Karting Microgame to race your way to a winning spot. Second, beginners are encouraged to join the upcoming Your First Game Jam livestream where we will take your suggestions of what you want to learn to do with the Karting Microgame and show you how. Also, the winners of this challenge will be announced during the livestream! (And of course, posted subsequently on this challenge page.)
Note: You do not need to participate in the Your First Game Jam livestream to enter this challenge, and similarly, you do not need to enter this challenge in order to participate in the Your First Game Jam livestream.
This challenge is a Karting free-for-all which means you have complete control over how you want it to look, feel and play. With your entry maybe you want to create a dizzying roller coaster track to race around, a colourful world full of various objects, or one with lots of explosions and animations.
Add as many original and fun details as you can to make your game stand out. When you’re done, submit it as a WebGL game to this challenge.
Rules & Requirements
To participate, you will need the latest version of the Karting Microgame that runs on Unity 2019.x. To get it and/or Unity, follow the instructions starting at 'Step 2' here.
You need to submit a modified version of the Karting Microgame that includes one or more of the mods available via Unity Learn. In addition, you are free to add your own modifications.
Please do not include personal information in your game, including pictures of family members, friends or acquaintances, your home, work or school address, and so on.
Offensive and/or illegal content will not be accepted in the Challenge.
Winners
We will choose three Winners and three Honorable Mentions from all entries that are within the guidelines of the Challenge. These will be announced during the Karting Microgame Jam, as well as posted on this Challenge page.
