Calling all creators in Unity! Create, mod and submit your Karting Microgame to our “Need 4 Kart II Challenge” to show your fellow creators your creativity in Unity.
During the recent Your First Game Jam live stream the Need 4 Kart I challenge came to an end and now we are excited to launch part two. In part one, we openly challenged you to customize the Karting Microgame with whatever your racing heart desired. For part two, your challenge will be to mod your Karting Microgame in ways that show off what you learned during the Karting Microgame Jam.
This means we are looking to see you add at least one of the Smart Karts into your Microgame as well as what else you can achieve from watching the game jam. Add as many original and fun details as you can to make your game stand out. When you’re done, submit it as a WebGL game to this challenge.
Rules & Requirements
- To participate, you will need the latest version of the Karting Microgame that runs on Unity 2019.x. To get it and/or Unity, follow the instructions starting at 'Step 2' here.
- You need to submit a modified version of the Karting Microgame that includes one or more of the mods available via Unity Learn or a different modification you can achieve by following the Karting Microgame Jam. In addition, you are free to add your own modifications.
- Your Microgame must include one of the new Smart Karts (set up as either the main player’s car or set up as an accompanying AI self-driving car).
- Please do not include personal information in your game, including pictures of family members, friends or acquaintances, your home, work or school address, and so on.
- Offensive and/or illegal content will not be accepted in the Challenge.
Winners
We will choose three Winners and three Honorable Mentions from all entries that are within the guidelines of the Challenge.
The deadline for submissions is May 26th, 2020.
