GameDev.tv game jam 2022 - Death is...
This is my submission for the GameDev.tv game jam 2022 with the theme: Death is only the beginning. In this jump-and-run platformer, you don't have to start over when you die. Upon death, the player's corpse becomes part of the level and you can use the corpse to reach the other side of lava lakes or to block the patrol of enemies. But be careful - you can only die once and the next time you'd die, it's lethal. There's also a checkpoint system that allows you to retry the level at the furthest point you've progressed so far. Hint: When "picking up" the checkpoint, the player can die again! Control: Arrow Keys / WASD --> moving Space Key --> jumping Mouse --> clicking buttons in the menu

Midnight farm girl (light study)
This lighting study was created for the Creative Core pathway. I wanted to recreate a scene that reminds of Inside or Little Nightmares to create a mysterious atmosphere with a strong contrast of light and shadow. This is my entry of Brackeys Game Jam 2021.2. The theme was "Let there be chaos". I always envied my cat destroying my furniture and throwing around all sorts of things that are laying around, so I decided to make a game to live the dream of breaking havoc as a cat! Programming Theory Repo
Controls: WASD to move, mouse to click. This game is used as a playground to demonstrate the four pillars of object oriented programming. After selecting your hero class you will enter the maze, a dungeon filled with enemies (grey = skeletons, red = thieves). They will follow you when getting closer, so better defeat them in a battle (which will automatically start when the enemy reaches you). When your hero dies, you will load to a transition scene and then back to the main menu, where you can select one of the remaining heroes. There is no deeper story or winning condition, as the main focus was to see how the four pillars of object oriented programming are applied in an interactive scenario. Have fun :)

CWC Game Jam 2021 - Ben-Hur-Ry Up!
TLDR: W: Boost (has cooldown) SPACE: Combat trick against green cubes (has cooldown) MOUSE: Camera A+D: Move sideways (the chariot moves forward on its own) Please read carefully, as the MVP project doesn't hold your hand when it comes to accessibility. You are Ben, one of the brave chariot racers and you want to be the first one finishing two laps without dying. Dying?! Oh yes,... This race is not for the meek. You can tackle and boost your way to glory! Use the "w" key to get a small boost and hit that "space" button to get a super force field to attack the enemies. The enemies are those green thingies riding the chariots, by the way... Oh yeah, and because your engine-horses are so super smart, they will drive the chariot for you automatically. So lean back and kick those opponents out of the race. You have full 360° view with your mouse so keep it wisely to keep track of both what's happening in front of you and behind you. If you wish, you can override the auto-pilot and use "A" and "D" to steer. This game jam was fun, but also super intense. I tried to squeeze in as much free time as I could, while still having my 9-to-5 job and the everyday chaos happening around me. At least I could dig up around 10-12 hours and invested it in learning some stuff about racing car AI and fighting against physics.

Battle Arena (CWC04)
This game is based on the CWC Live prototype 4, but it has some extras: - Basic movement (space = jump. vertical movement for speed control, horizontal movement for camera control) - Three unique power-ups: Shockwave jump, auto-aim bullets and power tackle - Normal, aggressive and boss enemies - Each boss has an additional ability: spawning additional enemies, firing homing missiles at player, or agile jumps - The game counts the waves and at wave 4, 6 and 10, boss enemies will spawn - Postprocessing effects - Cheat button "R" will reset the player back to the platform Try to finish all waves and be victorious (without using "R"). Have fun! :)

Joined Cubes
This is my participation of the 2021 Game Maker's Toolkit Game Jam. The theme was "Joined Together". In my interpretation the player character exists as two cubes and with the press of a button, the player splits into two, leaving one part behind. This can be used strategically to either reach far away places or it can be used to place the second part to activate floor switches. Since the parts are connected, pressing the button again will bring the two pieces back together. It was my first game jam, and I learned a lot along the way. Looking forward to the next! :) Controls: 'A' and 'D' moves the player horizontally, 'Spacebar' can be used to jump (also wall jump). 'Left Shift" will split the character (press again to combine the character).

This game is based on the CWC Live prototype 3, but it has some extras: - Basic movement (space = jump/doublejump, shift = boost) - Start screen with randomized player animations (loops until gamestart) - In addition to obstacles, cages will spawn in randomized distance and at randomized times - When breaking a cage (touching it), the dog that was inside will be freed and run beside you - Score is added while running, and while boost is active the score gain is increased Try to free as many caged dogs while not touching the obstacles on the ground. In this local multiplayer game you and your friend control a dog and a human. When you're the dog, try to feed the humans and vice versa. There are also a few twists in the game: when feeding the opponent, he can't move for a second, but will receive a score point. Also, don't run into the humans/dogs that you're trying to feed. Lastly, when a $-icon appears, try to hit it with food before your opponent does - whoever breaks it first, will get the score points. Have fun!

In this racing game you can drive against your friend (or yourself) using local split screen. Try to evade the traffic and hit those boxes to make it harder for your opponent. If you don't like the camera, change it, by using the "1" / "2" or the "comma" / "dot" keys. In case you'll fall down the map, don't worry. You'll spawn back to the starting position.
