Runaway Galaxy is a fast-paced top-down shooter set in space. The aim of the game is simple, try to set a high score by firing your missiles into your enemies whilst avoiding them. You only have 5 lives so make them count. I drew inspiration from Wipeout for its fast-paced gameplay and electrifying soundtrack. My goal was to create a game that keeps you on the edge of your seat, delivering an adrenaline-pumping experience from start to finish. A few features did not make the final cut such as powerups, increasingly difficult levels, various enemies, etc. I had some difficulty trying to have the scrolling background do a smoother transition. As you can see in the videos, the background gets to a certain point and then restarts abruptly. Hopefully, I can remedy this issue in the future. All assets used were from the Unity Store. The soundtrack was from a Royalty free SFX and music pack from Humble Bundle. Thank you for checking it out.
